Cinnamon Sugar Apple Chips

If you are anything like me and got a little overzealous at the Apple Orchard this year then you may still have apples left over too. This is a great recipe to use some of those apples up and make your kids(or yourself) a healthy snack.

These apple chips are so easy and delicious, you will want to make a few batches! The key to this recipe is time. If you don't have a dehydrator(I don't), then you will need to bake these in the over for a couple of hours. I like to do them on a morning that I have nothing planned, that way the whole house smells of cinnamon and apples all day long.

You can use a knife to cut the apple slices really thin or you can use a mandolin slicer. I have a mandolin slicer like this one and it works great. I used the thinnest slice option for these.

For this recipe, you can line your baking sheet with parchment paper, but I like to use my wire cooling racks laid inside my baking sheet. This gets the heat all the way around the apple slices and allows air to move through them which will help them get crunchier.

I hope you enjoy this healthy and delicious snack as much as we did! They didn't even last an entire 24 hours in this house, so we will definitely be making more of these soon!
