Easy & Healthy Turkey Burgers

Summer is here, officially like 3 weeks ago even though it has felt like it for months in Georgia. In the South, we pretty much grill all year round, but when it comes to a healthy and delicious Turkey Burger ... I like to save those for the Summer months.

This recipe has been one of our go-to's for years. It is derived from a recipe my mom shared with me years ago, but has been tweaked many times to fit our diets. We have made these for friends, family and the kids - all have enjoyed and loved these!

Sauté Apple, Celery and Onion

These are gluten, dairy, soy and egg free. A little time saver tip: We almost always make these first thing in the morning and stick them in the fridge. When we get home from a day at the pool, they are easy to just throw on the grill!

Form your Turkey Burgers

You can always add a bun to make this more of a "burger" feel, but I found that I don't miss it. If you wanted to add one, Trader Joe's makes a good gluten/dairy free hamburger bun(does contain eggs). I love to top mine with a homemade avocado/red onion "guac" mix (Trevor will even add turkey bacon to his "guac" mix). Serve with a side of easy slaw(recipe to come) or sweet potato fries!
